What to put in the message
- Their age. Thirteen and eighteen are different planets, and most gift advice pretends otherwise.
- The budget, and who is splitting it. One gift from you or a joint gift from four relatives changes the answer completely.
- One true thing about them. They draw, their phone is always dead, they are always cold, they cook at midnight. One fact is worth more than a list of categories.
What we answer first
- Corrections. A wrong detail, a dead link, a product that no longer exists.
- Questions about a list. Budget, occasion, or “would they actually use this.”
- Gaps. An occasion or interest we have missed, or a question a guide should answer and does not.
What we do not accept

One note on who writes to us
This site is written for the adult doing the buying. Please do not send us messages on behalf of anyone under 13 — we have no way to handle their details, and we would rather not have them.
